
How did you get into Crossfit?
I’ve been doing CrossFit since high school, my basketball and softball coach was in the Marines. After college I continued with a personal trainer that also incorporated CrossFit into our workouts. He also coached at a CrossFit gym which got my attention. Later on I decided to join. The owner was super nice and supportive he inspired me to continue and I haven’t stopped since.
How long have you been doing crossfit/coaching? 5+ years, coaching 3.3.
What’s something people don’t know about you? Love sports, soccer, American Football, pickle ball, rucking with my kiddos. Camping, hiking, drawing any type of art, are also my favorite hobbies.
What do you do for work outside the gym? I am an Administrative Coordinator- Paralegal for Catholic Charities of Owensboro Immigration Legal Services Department. I also coach in owensboro.
Tell about your family. I am a mother of 4 kiddos and 4 dogs. My oldest is at the University of Kentucky, my 2 youngest and step son are in middle school. I have 2 golden doodles (small and large) Koda and Kenai, Cutie a small shepherd mix and my oldest Nayima- Huskie Great PyreneesI live with Clyde my other half in Owensboro for the past 5 years. I was born in Guatemala, moved to Canada when I was 5 and to the states when I was My kids are 1/2 Guatemalan and Mexican so I also love Mexican culture. The whole family is involved in sports, CrossFit and our regular family gym. Clyde and I have a love for fitness. He is also my coach encouraged me to start training and lifting without fear (I haven’t stopped since) and to follow my dream of coaching. He and the kids have been my biggest supporters and inspiration.
What’s your go-to post-workout meal? Grilled chicken breast, rice and veggies
What’s a workout you secretly love that everyone else hates? Burpees! I am closer to the ground
If you could only do one CrossFit movement for the rest of your life, what would it be? Toes to bar for gymnastics, split jerk for PL, and cardio, skier
